What Your Swimmer Needs

  • Swimsuit

    • A modest swimsuit for all practices and meets.  It does not need to be a particular suit, but it must not be loose or have anything on it that causes a distraction.

    • Each season, the team offers a particular team suit design and does a bulk order at a discount during the April registration dates only.  You can order this suit on your own after that time.  There is a fit kit in person if you want to try them on.

    • Team suits are not mandatory.  Some swimmers never wear them.  Some swimmers wear them all the time.  Even more swimmers wear them only for meets (and then turn them into a practice suit afterwards).

  • Googles

    • Goggles are a necessity for your swimmer.

    • Well fitting goggles that do not allow water in work best.

    • Decorative goggles are fine so long as they stay on and swimmers don’t need to fiddle with them constantly.

    • Suggestions:

      • Speedo Vanquisher 2.0

      • Speedo Vanquisher 2.0 Jr

      • Aquasphere

      • Arena Tracks

      • TYR Swimple Youth

    • You can also buy a bungee strap for goggles that allow for easier tightening.

  • Cap

    • If your swimmer has hair that gets in his/her eyes when wet, it should be up in a cap.

    • The Penguins have a cap for $9 if you would like to buy one.  They are in the team room and available anytime.
