Swimmer and Parent Expectations

Swimmers:
Swimmers are required to sign a code of conduct. Coaches review this with swimmers so everyone knows what is expected of them. Kindness, respect, and good sportsmanship go a long way.
Parents:
Parents are expected to respect coaches, pool staff, and swimmers, communicate if there is a swimmer need that isn’t being met, and do their best to volunteer or help as needed. Swim meets required a lot of hands on deck to make it run. The concession stand also requires donations to make sure there is sufficient food to feed the masses at a meet. The team also thrives on smiles, safety, and positive team spirit. Please be a part of making this team successful!!
Also, please do your best to sign your swimmer up in a timely manner. Relays are made at the initial entry deadline, and any late signups are unlikely to get in one. Coach sends weekly emails on Sundays to make it as easy as possible for you.
Attendance:
Attendance is not taken. The more a swimmer comes to practice, the better they will get. If you’re going to be gone for a period of time, it would be great to let a coach know, but missing a couple of days is nothing to worry about. Coaches are happy to see swimmers whenever they can :)
Lane Lines & Flags:
Lane lines go in and out of the pool for every practice unless we were in the pool the previous evening. It takes three people to reel the lines - one to keep them from banging on the concrete, one to make sure they're rolling on properly, and another to turn the reel. Flags also need to be put up and taken down - they get wrapped around a kickboard and poles put away. Coaches come early and stay late to make these things happen, but please lend a hand if you see the need, esp if coaches are caught up helping someone or talking with a parent. Swimmers have always been fantastic about helping, too. We appreciate the extra hands!
